Dispensaries

A Medical Marijuana Dispensary is a facility designated optionally by registered patients and registered caregivers to purchase or obtain marijuana or Marijuana-Infused Products (MIP). A dispensary must be licensed and approved by the Department of Health and Human Service to dispense marijuana to registered patients and their designated registered caregivers. Medical Marijuana Dispensaries in Nevada can provide marijuana to cardholders from out of State.

In counties with 100,000 people or more, there shall no be more than one medical marijuana dispensary registered. A person must designate one dispensary from which marijuana will be purchased.

Visiting a Dispensary

A person must be at least 18 years of age to enter a designated medical marijuana dispensary. In visiting a medical marijuana dispensary, the patient or the patient’s designated caregiver must present all requirements or physician’s written recommendation as a proof that the patient has a qualifying condition and is allowed to use marijuana and purchase from a medical marijuana dispensary. Registered patients may only purchase from one designated medical marijuana dispensary at a time. No one shall ever use marijuana or Marijuana-Infused Products (MIP) inside a dispensary.

Starting a Dispensary

To start a medical marijuana dispensary, the owners, officers, board members, and employees must first provide complete application requirements, information, and fees needed under the Department of Health and Human Service.

• Must be at least 21 years of age and or above.
  has no past convictions for drug felonies or violent felonies.
• Has never previously been an owner of any other establishment.
• Must provide the required security equipment to prevent unauthorized entrance.
• Must be located at least 1,000 feet from a private or public school and 300 feet from a day care, public park, playground, public pool, or church.
• Must undergo laboratory testing to ensure the quality, potency, and content of marijuana.
