How long does the full process take?

If a patient wants to obtain a card, he must send a written letter to the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH). And along with it there must be a $25 money order made payable to said department.

The requested application will be sent to the patient within three days.Then the patient has to complete the application and send it back to DPBH along with the documents required and a registration fee of $75. Once the patient’s application is determined by DPBH as complete, current, and qualifying, the department will send a thirty-day temporary acceptance. The Department of Public Safety and Criminal History will be notified to do a background check. Results must be given within fifteen days. Once patient is approved, the he will be given an acceptance letter.

The patient has to present this letter to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (NVDMV) in order to claim his Medical Marijuana Card. He must also pay $11 to the NVDMV for the card picture.
